Spice Girls are coming back

Wednesday we took a tour of Parliament, and then  the BBC.  Parliament is much cooler than anywhere in DC and is very historic and pretty.  We watched this short but very formal deal when the speaker entered the room to open up Parliament for the day.

Thursday was our first day of work.  My supervisor, Lillian, is incredible.  I foresee this being an amazing experience.  We left work early on Thursday to attend the London Cinema and TV Fund Party.  We were technically volunteers, which included stuffing goodie bags with some magazines from our company and helping out with the auction. Get this...a table for 10 at this fund cost 1600 pounds.  The 5 interns that were able to go got the 3 course meal for doing our "volunteering" and then were able to partake in the open bar and dancing all night.  It was probably the best meal I have ever and will ever consume and it should be (for costing about $300).

Anyway, the party was a super fun, champagne filled time.  Len Goodman, a judge from Dancing with the Stars was there as were two world-ballroom-dancing-champs.  They were fun to watch, and def. made me a little jealous of their ability of both dancing and pulling off see through sequin shirts.

Work continued to go well on Friday.  I learned what I will be filling my time with.  2 huge projects.  The plans for the first, a huge presentation/reception/dinner/after party with Proctor and Gamble, are beginning asap.  We are going to Brooklands, where the head office of P&G is located, to look for venues in 2 weeks.

Today, the roomies all went to Buroughs market.  It was filled with fresh and delicious food. I ate my way through the cobble stone streets, tasting everything in front of me and enjoying every savory bite.  Big plans for the rest of the weekend.

On a side note - my supervisor reminds me a little bit of Wendy from Coyote Ugly, the woman who "moved to NY when she was 21 to become a dancer, then got knocked up by an actor who left her to join the peace corp...)

Everyone else's internships sound like they are going to be equally as cool and as fun.  There was a very attractive boy on the tube this morning with a Franklin and Marshall t-shirt on.  His looks distracted me so much, and I was unable to ask if he went/goes there.  Sad story, but so fun that he was representing Lanc. in London!
